poem

It is like a disease, terrible virus!
It is mysterious and strikes at any time
Capable of landing on anyone of us
Eroding all senses your brain or even mine

Like a second reason, your reason it conquers
Make you believe in all, like some sort of morphine
Hypnotise your mind and play with all your nerves
Gives you some pain and aches which cures no aspirin

Furtively it sticks inside you its tentacles
And in all directions its powers push and pull
In all of your body its strength it vehicles
Reach your soul even, ignoring any rule

This alien doesn't care how old you are
Its arrow points towards anyone, blindfolded
The babies in their pram when with mammy they are
The old man or grandma the simple, the gifted

It makes you fall in love with the most unlikely,
Someone younger than you, older or just the same
Someone pretty or handsome or perfectly ugly
Totally irrational Love never feels any shame

Beware when the fever of Love makes you shiver
It strikes or caresses, it hurts or gratifies,
Once it enters your heart love will stay forever
Pleases or tortures you, yet for Love you would die
