poem

The scent of sadness filled the air like a toxic cologne.
Wearing a tattered suit of heartache and pain,
a painted smile played thinly on your face.
Yet sad eyes held the story of cheating and lies,
artificial gifts handed you by a counterfeit lover.

Weaving a blanket of friendship I covered you,
an allegiance was formed pulling us closer,
peeling away the layers of doubt and fear.
Revealing to me an absolute heart of love,
willing to dive into my ocean of affection.

Sitting by waters edge a cool breeze moved over us,
waves tasting our toes, lapping at our feet.
Turning to you our bodies melt in certainty,
absorbing the last of the hearts reluctance,
casting to the waiting winds lingering disbelief.

Air becomes flames consuming devouring,
kisses explode into fireflies flickering bright.
Arms of strength and conviction hold me .
Two becomes one, vowing sensual promise
Tomorrows are forever and love lives eternal.
