poem

There were words but she was speechless
Could hardly breathe let alone speak out
And her mind was in a spinning motion
But the reality she could not seem to doubt

The hours of waiting had finally passed
Now the move had at last been made
In the cool night air she was took back
As the option had now been weighted

For there was a bravery in the gesture
Courage plucked up as far as it could go
She griped her hand in one swift motion
Then they let the feeling grow

And as their fingers entwined tighter
Words sat upon her smiling lips
But gone was the ability to speak
All down to her shaking fingertips
